FAQs

HOW DO I HOLD THE DATE?

A booking fee is required to hold the date, this is the cost of your rehearsal either £65 or £75 and non-refundable. On receipt of the booking fee we can then book out your rehearsal date. **Rehearsal Booking Fees are Non-Refundable should you wish to cancel your booking after your rehearsal**

50% of the Full Payment (minus the booking fee) is required 7 days after the rehearsal, this is to cover any last minute cancellations.

The remaining 50% of the final balance is required 14 days before the big day, Many Thanks in advance x

I'M STILL SHOPPING AROUND, HOW LONG CAN YOU HOLD THE DATE FOR?

That's ok, we all need to shop around. I hold the date for 2 weeks. I will send you an email when your provisional booking expires, and at that point should you not wish to go ahead the date will be released for another booking.

WHEN IS IT BEST TO HAVE THE REHEARSAL?

The rehearsal is usually held 8 weeks prior to the big day. It can be slightly earlier if it's necessary, should you live abroad and it's the only time you can do or it's a last minute booking. 8 weeks is best, because if you have your rehearsal too early you will more than likely want to change the style, and your dress and any accessories are also bought. If you are sure you won't change your mind then we can have the rehearsal whenever you would like. Additional rehearsals are priced at £40 per hour.

WHERE IS THE REHEARSAL HELD?

This is either held at my home address in Cambridgeshire. I will give this to you as confirmation on receipt of your deposit.  If you prefer, I would happily come to your desired location for your rehearsal, travels costs will be added accordingly and discussed at the booking stage.

DO YOU DO BRIDE ONLY BOOKINGS?

During the peak season which is June - September i do usually only take bookings that are Bridal Hair + 3 or more only.  However, i do offer Bridal Hair Only styling during Peak Season, but i do have to apply an additional sur charge of £50 to the Bride Only Bookings, this is to cover the cost of a larger party booking that would be lost.

CAN I PAY CASH ON THE DAY?

Bank transfers are preferred, but if it's easier, cash on the day is excepted. This would of be discussed at the rehearsal or booking stage.

TRAVEL COSTS

Travel is 50p per mile, this also includes the return journey.

Parking costs, Congestion charges and Tolls will be added.

NO TRAVEL COSTS APPLY within a 10 mile Radius of my home address in Cambridgeshire (details given on confirmation of deposit)

* Parking charges still apply *

CANCELATION POLICY.

The first half of the booking fee will be kept as compensation for work lost, should any bookings be cancelled within 3 months of the prearranged wedding date.

DO I NEED TO WASH MY HAIR BEFORE YOU ARRIVE?

For all Bridal party styling, if it's something you feel you have to do then that's fine. I use a really good product that helps me to work with clean hair so don't worry. If you are having a blowdry or a roller set then washing and leaving your hair to dry naturally on the morning would be best, i will then come and damp it down and work from there.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN YOU STYLE ON YOUR OWN?

For Vintage party bookings my maximum party size is 8 people, but should some of the party only require basic styling such as victory rolls and not a full roller set, this can go up to 10 people. An additional stylist will be required for larger parties, see below for pricing.

For Bridal parties, the maximum party size is 7 people, i would bring an additional stylist for bookings 8 persons and over, this would be an additional cost of £20 per hour.

WHAT PRODUCTS DO YOU USE?

I like to use a selection of products. Over the years i have found select products from brands such as TIGI, BEDHEAD, LEE STAFFORD, TRESEMME, ELNETTE, DAVINES, LOREAL, KMS CALIFORNIA and KERASILK have been amazing and suited the style of my work. If for any reason you have sensitive skin and find that some of the above mentioned products don't suit you, please let me know, i am happy to use your products, or to use an alternative. I also now use a NEW VEGAN brand called Maria Nila.

HOW LONG ARE YOU THERE ON THE WEDDING DAY?

On the wedding day i will arrive in plenty of time to set up, and then i am with you all morning styling yourself and the wedding party within the prearranged time slots. Once everybody has changed into their formal wear, i will still be on hand to do final touch ups to the styles and to assist with your veil (should you have one) so i will be with you right up until the moment you leave!

IS IT A PROBLEM IF I DON'T HAVE MY VEIL OR HEAD PIECE AT THE REHEARSAL?

No, it's not a problem at all! We can look online for images, or should you have a picture of yourself wearing it when you tried it on in the shop bring that along and we can build your style around that. But don't worry, i have done many a rehearsal without accessories, on the day it's an even bigger WOW moment when it all comes together.

HAVE YOU WORKED WITH HAIR EXTENSIONS?

Yes, i have worked with all hair types, fine, thick, short, long, extensions, afro, wigs, you name it, i've worked with it! I often use the brides/models own clip in extensions to achieve certain looks, as sometimes it's impossible not to to create some styles. If you have glue bond or ring extensions and have prefered products to use for any reason, i am happy to do so.

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE ILL ON THE WEDDING DATE?

I never like to tempt fate, but should this ever happen i promise i will get to you!  In an emergency and some act of god, i will find a back up stylist, via an agency i'm associated with which is called www.makeupbyjodie.co.uk

DO YOU DO PROM HAIR STYLING?

Yes, i am happy to do Prom styling! I love being able to inspire the young ladies in their femininity, even show them a few tips should they need. Pricing for this is the same as vintage styling. Discount is available for more than one person bookings.
